For years I have owned a old Magellan GPS 300, very basic but never let me down. One day I figured it was time for an upgrade and the Triton 400 caught my eye. First of all full coloured maps, easy SD memory card system to operate and a base map of North America, what more could you ask for. Higher models boast Mp3 players, flash light, barometer and 3mp camera. I stuck with the basics. Now the negetive part. First modles had a bad rap, can't down load stuff, locking up on the trail ect. What you need is patience and a newer computer, I had not one problem. You guys just need to read the instructions manual!!! Also the basemap, north of the American border is a big map of NOTHING, other than yes major highways and the Great Lakes, at this point it reminded me of my old GPS. I called Magellan tech support for this, turns out that is what you get nothing, so get ready to find a map site like Maps4Me or Magic Maps, shell out a donation and the Triton map world is ready to down load. It accepted my 8G SDHC card no problem along with its VantagePoint software and an extremely detailed map of my Province and I was one happy customer.
